Transparency and Accountability through a Donor Database

UNDP in Swaziland has successfully completed a feasibility study to establish a donor database at the Ministry of Economic Planning & Development. The urgent need for the study was necessitated by the absence of a coherent system to predict and monitor commitments and disbursements by the various donors.
Cooperatives – Alternative To Austerity Measures

The declaration speak to the MDG’s goals of raising public awareness of the invaluable contributions of cooperate enterprises to poverty reduction; employment generation and social integration.

Supporting our Women

UNDP funds training programs for the Business Women Forum (BWF) an organization whose mission is to empower women and create opportunities, as well as recognize the gender dimension to poverty. BWF is solely committed to supporting the achievement of the MDGs, with a specific mandate of translating the eradication of poverty goal into tangible results. UNDP funded a training program for women farmers, because it believes that empowering women farmers improves food security for all.
Commemoration Of Girl Child – A Positive Milestone

For the first time in the history of the UNDP, the UN Agency finally honored the Girl Child. UNDP pays special attention to the empowerment of and investment in the girl child: “It is critical for economic growth, the achievement of all MDG’s, including the eradication of extreme poverty, as well as the meaningful participation of girls in decisions that affect them.”
Ministry of Justice Launches Justice Sector Strategic Plan

The report: “Access to Justice and the Rule of Law” points out that the UNDP works with national partners to develop national strategic plans and programs for justice reform and service delivery and supports justice needs and capacity assessments to analyze demand and supply for services, creating a baseline for monitoring and evaluation.
